Marriage

Today Prop 8 was denied. Marriage is over rated. Then again...so is being single. People want what they can't have.

Today, Gays are allowed to get married here in California, now that they got what they wanted, i seriously doubt that they're running out to get married. I believe that this was not about getting married but more about getting equal rights.

I agree with you, on both Prop 8 points - some envy what others have and want it for themselves, even if they are not entitled to it. Others want it for the principal of the matter, for the sake of "equal rights and protection under the law".

I disagree with you about marriage, though. Although I am divorced, I believe in marriage - next time (God willing, that is), it will definitely be with someone who is my best friend and committed to a God-centered relationship.

It is not for me to judge nor am I against GLBTs, knowing many who are in happy, committed relationships. They already have rights under the law with civil unions. Even then, some of these unions end, just as traditional relationships do.

My personal belief is that marriage is between a man and a woman.
